HISTORY
The parish of St. Timothy’s, affectionately known as St. Tim’s, has been worshiping for over 70 years.
Like any faith community, we have experienced periods of growth as well as decline, and witness to God's faithfulness in all circumstances. St. Timothy’s has been and continues to be a congregation focused on worship, Christian education and neighborhood outreach.
Planted by St. George's in Englewood, St. Tim’s held its first worship service on Easter Sunday, 1951, and six years later officially became a parish. In May of 1960, the cornerstone was laid for the first sanctuary on Hickory Street in historic Littleton. The parish continued to flourish, helping launch St. Gregory's mission and providing curacies for new priests.
As membership grew and new neighborhoods developed, leadership began looking for a larger campus to serve the expanding south Denver metro. After purchasing and remodeling another church building in Centennial, the first worship services at our current location were held in 2000.
Our mission is to embrace all people with the love of Jesus. Situated between Powell Middle School and Arapahoe High School, youth and children's ministries are important priorities. We are glad to partner with Family Promise to provide temporary housing to families in transition. We open our campus to Boy Scouts, AA, and other local support groups as a community center, glad to provide a safe and welcoming space for neighbors to gather.
As we emerge from the effects of a global pandemic, we are prayerful and attentive to how we can show God's love to our neighbors.
